There are some good reasons for snacking, the main reason is, it keeps your digestive system ticking over which burns calories, having a snack first thing in the morning will kick start your digestive system improving your overall calorie burning rate, and eating snacks will deter you from eating large meals. Large meals are bad for two main reasons 1 Filling your stomach up to maximum capacity can expand the size of your stomach, therefore giving you a belly over time, or cause bloating. 2 The other reason is when your stomach is full it doesn't break down your food as efficiently, which can also cause bloating and gas.

Many fruits are high in fiber and help the digestive system, many are also high in vitamins A,C and E which will help prevent and fight illnesses. NutsNuts are a great source of protein, but they can be high in fat, and some are coated in sugar and salt, if you pick the healthier varieties they're a healthy snack food.
