  • Do some weight training, find a flexible routine and stick to it, workout 3 to 4 times a week for 30 to 50 minutes each session, weight training has many benefits. Regular resistance training will make you stronger and look better, for both men and women. It will also improve your bodies circulation and burn more calories in the long run helping to reduce your body fat percentage.

  • Do some cardiovascular exercising, cardiovascular exercising is very good for your heart and lunges, it will increase the capacity of both. You will be less likely to suffer from breathlessness and cardiovascular illnesses. Plus this type of exercising will burn a lot of instant calories.

  • Eat complex carbohydrates, get your energy from foods that are high in fibre, complex carbohydrates require more effort and energy from the body to digest therefore burning calories and because it provides your body with useful nutrients you're less likely to feel as hungry. Other good complex carbohydrate foods are fruit and vegetables.

  • Reduce your alcohol intake, alcohol dehydrates us and can slow down the metabolism reducing the bodies ability to burn fat. Alcohol is also full of bad carbohydrates which just results in excessive calories. You don't have to give it up completely just cut back if you're someone that drinks a lot.

  • Reduce caffeine, caffeine can cause dehydration and increase blood pressure.

  • Make sure your diet is providing your body with everything it needs, vitamins, minerals complex carbohydrates and protein are the basics. If you have insufficient amounts of any of these it could prevent you from reaching your fitness goals, and slow your metabolism.
